Description

Trident Attack Traffic Generator

Trident is an attack traffic generator that is designed for use in a laboratory setting.    The target application for trident is testing security systems such as firewalls and network intrusion detection systems.    Trident has the capability to generate scalable traffic streams that are protocol compliant.    Critically, Trident can generate both malicious traffic streams that mimic well-known attacks (no malicious payloads are included) as well as benign traffic streams that mimic standard applications and their flow-level characteristics.    The mix of malicious vs. benign traffic can be configured by the user.
